2nd Shift Production Supervision (Group Leader)
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking an experienced Group Leader for 2nd shift shop supervision who has a background in manufacturing/machining management, implementing policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, continuous improvement, and to support strategic company goals.

The Group Leader is responsible for the development and management activities for their Product Groups in the Value Stream by working in conjunction with the Team Leader and Value Stream Operators and with the support of Process Analyst, Buyer/Planner, Manufacturing Engineer and Maintenance Technicians. This position reports directly to the Value Stream Leader (Operations Manager) and serves as a liaison to other areas of the company. Responsible for administering policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, safety, continuous improvement and engaged team members, while supporting strategic value stream goals.

Production Support

  • Assure PPE and other OSHA requirements are being followed.
  • Assure work rule and company policy compliance.
  • Respond to andon light/sound as required.
  • Utilize escalation process as needed.
  • Conduct morning gemba walk with Team Leader.
  • Spot check product quality conformance.
  • Follow up on late customer orders with Team Leader.
  • Administrative responsibilities as required.
  • Approve overtime and SPTO.
  • Attend weekly staff meeting.
  • Lead the bi-weekly Value Stream Operator meeting.
  • Lead idea board discussion bi-weekly with support team.
  • Conduct product group safety audit meeting at safety board.
  • Assist with interviews as needed.

Team Member Development/Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategic cross training.
  • Lead job instruction breakdown usage and development.
  • Monitor skills training progress of new hires with Training Coordinator – 30 day review.
  • Manage training process.
  • Serve as a resource on the manufacturing processes in the Value Stream.
  • Perform evaluations for direct reports using evaluation forms and procedures.
  • Identify and address disciplinary issues through Job Relation activities and corrective action system as needed.
  • Assist in the retention of team members - identify and facilitate career development plans.

Improvement

  • Ensure quality improvements through root cause identification and permanent solutions.
  • Complete PDCA improvement cycles.
  • Co-lead morning and afternoon toolbox meetings. Communicate containment occurrences.
  • Safety idea review.
  • Conduct 6S and standard work audits as scheduled or as needed.
  • Resolve 6S, safety and standard work audit findings.
  • Assist management of idea system.
  • Manage accident investigations.
  • Work to improve equipment, tooling, layout and production processes.
  • Other related duties as required.

Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related major and 5+ years of managerial experience, within the manufacturing industry desired. Experience and understanding of machining processes, CNC knowledge, G & M code, tooling background desired and manufacturing based technology, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge a plus.

2nd Shift Value Stream Operator - Light Assembly
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking Value Stream Operators. The Value Stream Operator assembles parts and raw materials to form complete units or sub assemblies at their assigned workstation(s), while following standard work and supporting lean initiatives.

The Value Stream Operator will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

  • Utilize hand tools, light power tools and other special equipment to perform assigned assembly operations.
  • Monitors the quality of all items produced in the area.
  • Performs basic cleaning and preventive maintenance checks of equipment as required or assigned.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Skill Requirements:

  • High School education or the equivalence of a G.E.D.
  • Manufacturing assembly experience desired. Lean manufacturing experience a plus.

The successful new team member is to have the skills and ability to be action oriented with effective problem solving skills, possess good communication/interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a team environment. The Value Stream Operator will participate in Lean continuous improvement activities; and possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills, while assisting others to do the same. The pay range for this position is $10.00 to $15.00 per hour, with a .50 cent shift differential.




Packaging Clerk-Shipping
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking an experienced Packaging Clerk for Shipping. The Packaging Clerk takes assembled units, parts and accessories and packages them for shipment to the customer using a variety of packing materials and methods. This position reports directly to the Production Coordinator and is responsible for promoting an environment of lean efficiency, continuous improvement and support for strategic company goals.

The Packaging Clerk function has the following responsibilities

  • Utilize hand tools, light power tools and other special equipment to perform assigned packaging operations; may receive direction in the form of verbal or written work to complete assigned work.
  • Match finished goods and parts with documentation and check correct type and quantity being shipped.
  • Monitor the quality of all work performed in the area.
  • Monitor the status of tooling, machinery, benches and hardware used in the area and utilize the andon to notify the Water Spider of any problems.
  • Follow safety rules and wear prescribed personal protective equipment.
  • Follow work instructions and training guides
  • Maintain condition of work area and keep free of potential hazards.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area.
  • Perform basic cleaning and preventive maintenance checks of equipment as required or assigned. The team member will perform related duties as required and as directed.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Assist in meeting Shipping goals.
  • Sufficient visual ability to identify and sort by specifications.
  • Good hand to eye coordination and dexterity.
  • The ability to perform repetitive operations.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Be proficient in application of lean tools.
  • Exhibit problem solving skills.
  • Possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills.

Required experience and abilities to perform the Packaging Clerk duties. High school graduate or equivalent G.E.D. required. Shipping experance and degree a plus.
Compensation commensurate with experience. Packaging Clerk pay range is $10.00 to $15.00 per hour. Shift hours are 10:30am to 7:00pm evening shift.



1st Shift CAD DraftsPerson
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking an experienced CAD Draftsperson. The role of a Sales VS CAD Draftsperson is to provide the necessary technical support required in the promotion, sale and manufacturing of Pyromation products and services. The Sales VS CAD Draftsperson reports to the Sales & Marketing Manager.

The Sales VS CAD Draftsman will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

  • Provides the necessary CAD support for use in the sale and manufacturing of our products.
  • Responsible for maintaining document control with compliance to our quality system.
  • Assess customer requirements for proper product design.
  • Provide shop personnel with Bill of Operations and Bill of Materials required for manufacturing.
  • Assign proper spec “Z”, or “Z per drawing” information to customer orders.
  • Work closely with Sales, Production Coordinators, Purchasing/Buyer Planners, CCA’s and Engineering to ensure orders meet customer requirements.
  • Other related duties as required/directed by the Group Leader.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Possess strong drafting skills and CAD proficiency.
  • Possess good technical background.
  • Possess print reading capabilities.
  • Be able to prioritize and organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Possess computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD (or equivalent).
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess good math skills.
  • Be self-motivated
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Be able to work under a moderate amount of pressure.

Minimum Education and Skill Requirements:

  • 2+ years Auto CAD experience and degree desired.
  • Experience with Pyromation or external comparable experience preferred.
